Llamamiento para participar en la mesa redonda de alto nivel industrial del plan "Industria 2030"

Following the renewed industrial policy strategy published on 13 September, the European Commission set up the High-Level Industrial Roundtable 'Industry 2030'. The Commission is now calling for applications for membership of this group.

Interested individuals should submit their application by 22 January 2018, 23:59 Brussels time.

The tasks of the Roundtable are:

  • to provide feedback on the Commission's initiatives and actions for smart, innovative and sustainable industry
  • to assist the Commission in making conclusions from EU Industry Day operational
  • to advise the Commission in defining priorities for future actions in industrial policy and for the subsequent EU Industry Day
  • to advise the Commission on the implementation of the renewed EU industrial policy strategy and monitor its progress at international, EU, national, regional, and local level
  • to build on existing groups linked to EU initiatives in industrial policy, including the reports and analyses they produce
  • to reflect on future targets to measure the performance of EU industry and propose medium and long-term objectives.

The High Level Industrial Roundtable will consist of 20 members. They will include individuals appointed in a personal capacity (type A) and individuals appointed to represent the interest of industrial enterprises or employees (type B).

Applications must be completed in one of the EU's official languages. However, applications completed in English will help facilitate the evaluation procedure. If another language is used, it would be helpful to include a summary of the application in English. An application will be deemed admissible only if it is sent by the deadline and includes the documents referred to below. All documents submitted should be filled in, legible, signed and numbered sequentially.

Supporting documents

Every application must include these documents:

  • a cover letter explaining the applicant's motivation for answering this call and stating what contribution the applicant could make to the group
  • a classification form specifying the member category for which the application is made (annex I)
  • a selection criteria form documenting how the applicant fulfils the selection criteria listed in chapter 4 of this call (annex II)
  • a curriculum vitae (CV), preferably not exceeding 3 pages. All CVs must be submitted in the European format
  • individuals applying to be appointed as members of the group in a personal capacity (type A) must disclose any circumstances that could give rise to a conflict of interest by submitting a declaration of interests (DOI) form
  • additional supporting documents (e.g. publications) may be requested at a later stage.

Deadline for application

The signed applications must be sent by 22 January 2018, 23:59 Brussels time. The date of sending will be established as follows:

  • where applications are sent by email to, the date of the email will be the date of sending
  • where applications are sent by post to: European Commission, DG GROW, Unit F1 secretariat, av. des Nerviens 105, 07/085, 1040 Brussels, Belgium, 'Industry 2030 Application', the postmark will be the date of sending
  • Where applications are hand-delivered to: European Commission, DG GROW, Unit F1 secretariat, av. des Nerviens 105, 07/085, 1040 Brussels, Belgium, 'Industry 2030 Application', the date on the receipt given upon delivery will be the date of sending

Selection criteria

The Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs will take the following criteria into account when assessing applications:

  • particular experience and knowledge in research and innovation, key enabling technologies, clusters, regional industrial transformation, global value chains, data economy and servitisation of industry, global competitiveness, sustainability, bio and circular economy, low carbon industry, social dimension and future of work, venture capital and investment (all applicants)
  • absence of circumstances that could give rise to a conflict of interest (individuals applying to be appointed in a personal capacity only)
  • proven capacity to effectively represent the position shared by stakeholders, including industrial enterprises or employees (individuals applying to be appointed to represent a common interest only)
  • very good knowledge of English allowing active participation in discussions (all applicants)
